Chef Sebastien Maris was born in Carcassonne, France.
He enrolled with the Groisy Culinary Institute at the age of 13. At the age of 14, he began his apprenticeship with the Torque Royal - Five Star Michelin - Gastronomic Restaurant - Casino-Hotel in Evian-Les Bains, France. After completing his formal education and training, he was asked to continue his career at the Torque Royal. He received numerous honors and was very successful.
Chef Sebastien's lifelong dream was to come to America and in August, 2005 he was given that opportunity. The owners of Restaurant La Strada were searching for an Executive European Chef and were referred to Chef Sebastien. He came to America with only a few of his belongings, as well as, best wishes and blessings from family, friends, colleagues, and superiors. His elaborate culinary knowledge, work ethic, and dedication helped Restaurant La Strada to achieve great success.
In September, 2006 Chef Sebastien married Pamela Ennis from Guntersville, Alabama, who also worked at the restaurant.
In October, 2007 Chef Sebastien became one of the proud new owners of the Glover Restaurant.
His goal is to create dishes that satisfy all the senses and allow everyone in the Glover to celebrate his creations with him.
